Italian Renaissance Gown-Womans' gown style popular in Italy. The overgown fastens at waist and opens at lower front to reveal an underskirt in a contrasting color. A stomacher is worn under the bodice. The sleeves are made up of three separate units that attach to each other with ties. This gown is worn over a chemise, with the chemise sleeves pulled through the openings in the gown sleeves to form "puffs".(See Photo Gallery) |
